Picture Dictionary is a Absolute Beginner level resource using pictures and sounds to practise pronunciation and literacy.

Picture Dictionary PLUS

Picture Dictionary PLUS builds upon Picture Dictionary and uses interactive exercises, images and sounds to help learners practise and develop a broad range of pronunciation and literacy skills at the Absolute Beginner level.

• Learn how to use appropriate pronunciation
• Develop general reading skills
• Develop basic speaking skills.

Vital Vocab 1

Vital Vocab 1 is an interactive, online vocabulary resource for learners at Beginner level. Learners are introduced to the 1000 most frequently used words in English*. The words are organised according to lexical sets and presented in the form of text, images, video and audio files.

The aim is to focus learners’ attention on the essential information about each word, including:

• spelling
• word forms
• pronunciation
• meaning
• use.

Vital Vocab 2

Vital Vocab 2 builds on Vital Vocab 1 and is based on the second thousand most frequently used words in English*. In each of the 100 units learners are introduced to 10 new words and provided with interactive reading, listening and writing practice activities to help them recognise and use these words.

The aim is to focus learners’ attention on the essential information about each word, including:

• spelling
• word forms
• pronunciation
• meaning
• use.

Academic Vocabulary

All language learners need vocabulary, but for tests such as IELTS or for a degree course vocabulary becomes extremely important.

This interactive, online vocabulary learning resource is based on the Academic Word List* and was developed specifically to address the vocabulary needs of international learners preparing to take high-stakes tests or planning to undertake tertiary study in western countries.
